I want to join the IDF, do i need to know Hebrew?

You should learn Hebrew (if not for the Army then for day to day life in Israel). However, if your Hebrew is not that good the army will give you a Hebrew lesson for several weeks. The lesson is very intensive. Also, while in the army you are not "allowed" to talk in any other language other then Hebrew so that will improve your Hebrew a lot.
