Why aren't all citizens proud of America for defeating the Confederacy and ending slavery, in the Civil War?

what we do need is to put it to rest and get on to making this a better world, with all the sport stars making millions plus movie stars . there is many other fields like medical, political, Business they are doing well in, so give it a rest.If people would just quit bringing the race issue up ,we could start getting this recession over with
