How can I contact the "press" to attend/cover my bands show? I cant find anything anywhere, please help.?

My band is having a huge show, with the potential of "wooing" a Sony record producer that night. We want to invite the "media/press" to this night, as It will be sure to be out stepping stone into the limelight. I just want to know is there any way about getting members of Rolling Stone/Revolver/Metal Edge/L.A. Weekly or any other magazines to attend? Thank You.
