Desktop Hard Drive Data, Can I recover it?

My old Desktop, GateWay XP, got hit by lightning lol, and it ruined the power source, so I don't even want to fix it, but I have Dell Vista laptop. Is there anything I can buy that will allow me to take the hard drive from my old Desktop and plug it into my laptop to recover all my pics, vids, and music, its irreplaceable family stuff, thanks alot!!!
